Welcome

Whether you met us at one of our school events or stumbled upon our site during a Google search, we’re so glad you’re here!

We offer tutoring in a variety of areas, ranging from academic subjects to standardized test prep. We are highly sought after for our small-group SAT prep classes, which cover both content and strategies for all sections of the exam.

For students seeking more scheduling flexibility, we also offer private tutoring sessions, which are held virtually over Zoom.

Our Approach

We pride ourselves on our subject matter expertise and ability to break down complex concepts. We don’t waste time going over topics the student has already mastered. Instead, we strive to help students reach a deeper understanding of how different concepts are related. Using math as an example, our method builds mathematical maturity by challenging students to think more critically about what they’re learning.

For test prep, we always ask students to complete practice exams outside of class. That way, we can use our lesson to address questions and do targeted drills. This results in greater accountability and more effective learning.

Meet Our Tutors

Our practice consists of educators who are both skilled in their craft and deeply compassionate. All of our tutors have scored in the top 1% on their own exams, but their superpower lies in their ability to connect with students. This starts with patience, care, and a genuine understanding of our studentsโ€™ experience. We consider it the highest praise when families share that their child sees our tutors not just as teachers, but as mentors.

We match each student with a tutor based on subject needs, learning style, and scheduling fit to ensure the strongest academic and interpersonal fit.

Meet our current tutoring team working with students this season:

A Letter From Our Founder

Before I share who I am, I want to tell you who I’m not.

I’m not a businesswoman who happens to teach.

I’m an educator whose dream of helping overwhelmed teenagers navigate the stressful high school years led me to start a business.

I graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. I also have a minor in math. Iโ€™ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others, but it took time
and a healthy dose of courage to figure out how to turn my passion into a career.

I started Prep with Jen to help students learn the ins and outs of the SAT, but I quickly realized that there’s more to the story. Many students are held back not by their lack of skills, but by a lack of confidence. So, I made it my mission to go beyond teaching to the test. I wanted to create a space where students felt safe to ask questions, curious enough to engage in discussions, and empowered to test their own limits.

I never imagined that this work would grow into a community of educators and families who share my vision.

A decade later, I’m proud to work alongside an exceptional group of tutors who show up with intention and heart. For many students, their tutor’s mentorship becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their academic journey.

Of course, none of this happens in isolation. To the parents giving your all to support your child, we see you. The college admissions landscape is confusing and ever-changing. Thatโ€™s why we hold ourselves to a high standard of consistency and transparency. We hope your experience with us brings more clarity to the process.

Thank you for being a part of our story. Whether you’re a parent, student, or educator, you are the reason we do what we do.

With Gratitude,
