Communication

We prefer to communicate over email, and we try our best to respond within 24 hours of your inquiry. In cases of emergencies that require last-minute scheduling changes, please call or text your tutor. Below is our office contact information:

Homework

We firmly believe that practice makes permanent and consistency is king. Depending on the subject, we may assign homework that focuses on your specific areas of weakness. We understand how hectic your schedule can be, but it is very important for you to prioritize the homework we give and complete it thoughtfully. Scribbling down answers 5 minutes before class defeats the purpose and is counterproductive. If you absolutely cannot complete a homework assignment in time, please inform your tutor as soon as possible, so he or she may be able to adjust your lesson agenda accordingly.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

To keep lessons running smoothly for all families and to protect instructor time, please review our scheduling policy below.

Rescheduling Requests

  • Two reschedules are permitted per 10-session package.
  • Reschedule requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Reschedules are subject to instructor availability and are not guaranteed.

Late Cancellations

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed in full and counted as fulfilled.
  • This policy applies to all cancellations, including illness.

We understand that emergencies and sudden illness can occur. To support families navigating occasional unexpected situations, each student may use one courtesy late cancellation per package, which allows the lesson to be rescheduled rather than counted as fulfilled.

For students managing ongoing medical conditions that may affect attendance, we encourage families to reach out proactively so we can determine the best lesson structure.

Consistency supports steady student progress and allows our tutors to prepare thoughtful, individualized lessons each week. We appreciate your understanding and partnership.

No-shows

A “no-show” counts as a lesson. If you miss a scheduled lesson without sufficient notice, then you forgo the length of your scheduled class from the package you purchased. We reserve the right to decline working with students who have a pattern of no-shows or frequent last-minute cancellations.

Lesson Participation & Continuity Policy

To ensure meaningful academic progress, students are expected to:

  1. attend lessons consistently,
  2. complete assigned homework/practice, and
  3. actively participate during sessions

If we observe recurring patterns that significantly limit progress (such as frequent cancellations, incomplete work, or limited engagement in lessons), Prep With Jen may recommend pausing or discontinuing services. This allows families to reassess priorities and ensures that tutoring remains a productive investment of time and resources.

Decisions around continuation are always made thoughtfully, with the student’s long-term success as our guiding principle.

Refunds

There are no refunds for single sessions. For packages, we deduct hours against the package as lessons take place. If we don’t end up using all of the hours, either because the student progresses more quickly than we anticipated, they’d like to stop lessons, or we determine that the best course of action is to conclude lessons for the reasons listed in the previous section, they’ll be refunded the remaining balance, less any transaction fees. Students of our group classes who would like to move to private tutoring can apply their remaining course tuition towards virtual, private lessons.
